Network Mapping fails "Drive not Accessible"
Last week I mapped a laptop (Windows 7 pro, 64 bit) to a drive on our MS Server 2008. No problem. This week lost the mapping due to a power failure over the
weekend. Ran Net use * /d and was successful. remapped to our 2003 server successfully but still would not map to the 2008 server. Tried mapping the drive to the server and received error "Drive not accessible". Tried different drive letters, all come
back with the same error. I can log in to this server with Remote Desktop with the users credentials. When I try to Run the Server name "Run 192.168.1.xxx" I get the error that the the user doesn't have the rights to login. Went to the Command prompt and typed net use
F: \\ServerName\Share , this was successful and mapped the drive but when I try to open it I get the message "F: Drive not accessible" This is the only machine having this problem. Any suggestions would be
helpful. Thanks.

Hello,
Changing another user to see the result, this could help us determine its a user account issue or the computer issue.
Also check the permission settings on that mapped drive, ensure that user has the permission. Generally, the access denied issue is caused by insufficient privilege.
When you using \\UNC to open that drive, does it work?
Did you enable AutoRun functionality in Windows 7? Since Ive see a similar issue was caused by this, If you enable that, please follow How to disable or enable all Autorun features in Windows 7 and other operating systems to disable the AutoRun
in this KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/967715 . (Please Note, before you modify the registry, backup it firstly.)
If all the above does not work, I suggest you use the
Network Monitor to capture the network traces, see if theres any clue.
Additionally, if the issue only occurs on this specific Windows 7 client, please also ask in
Windows 7 forum.
Thanks.
